ABOUT WANO BUILDING
Wano Building was founded by Wiremu Wano in 2015, with a background in the construction industry that reaches back to 2006. After starting out in plumbing, moving into building in 2010, and completing his apprenticeship here in Taranaki, Wiremu decided to step out on his own, buying his first van and tools and building the business from the ground up. What began as a husband-and-wife operation has grown into a trusted Taranaki building company known for quality workmanship, genuine service and a hands-on approach to every project.
As a family man, Wiremu has built the business with the same care, commitment and long-term mindset that matter at home. His wife played a key role in helping shape the brand in the early days, supporting the business behind the scenes and handling the book work while the company found its footing. Together, they laid the foundation for a business built on hard work, strong relationships and a genuine desire to do right by their clients.

Today, with 20 years of experience in the construction industry behind the business, Wano Building is backed by an experienced team of qualified builders, apprentices, trusted subtrades and industry professionals. The team works across new builds and renovations throughout Taranaki with a strong focus on quality workmanship, clear communication and a hands-on approach from start to finish.
Māori-led values remain an important part of how the team works day to day, with respect, integrity and tikanga in the workplace helping shape the culture of Wano Building. These values guide the way the team supports clients, works together and approaches each project with care, pride and professionalism.
